Georges Evrard naît en 1867 à Paris. Il s'installe comme confiseur à l'âge de 19 ans dans le quartier du Marais. En 1899, il dépose la marque « Au Pierrot Gourmand », qu’il exploite depuis 1892 avec succès.

En 1916, Evrard installe à Ivry-sur-Seine une usine qui deviendra célèbre. Elle emploiera 250 personnes en 1950.


En 1976, la société doit déposer le bilan face à la grande distribution. L’usine d’Ivry ferme. Le groupe Andros rachète la marque et reprend la production.
